Grace Vs. Works

Wear my faith on my sleeve like a badge of pride
But had no idea that this life isn't mine
My mouth sings lies that my heart doesn't believe
Living by works like Adam and Eve
Actions and intentions can be in different places
If your heart is filled in all the wrong spaces
But grace is the anthem the Gospel sings
It says God is strong though I am weak
Religion says work but God says rend
He makes whole brokenness only He can mend
So surrender all to the one who gave all
No cleansing required, just answer the call
Trust that He makes all things new
By His grace and power and not what you do


The Story

3 nails piercing flesh and bone
And 3 days later my king arose
He died for my sin
He healed me from within
But our story doesn't end there
Because you see, you adopted you as His child
Christ made us co-heirs
So finally you have been set free
He redeems you with His love and calls you royalty
Every chains is broken and shackles removed
All He asks in return... is that you give Him all of you
You were bought with a price
You are not your own
God himself stepped down from His throne
To humble Himself to death for your sake
So don't pretend this life is a mere mistake
He knew you since before your birth
He calls you beautiful and He alone sets your worth
Your life for His glory
This is the ultimate love story
That Christ be God and die for you
To draw you near and make you new
Pour out yourself and let Him fill you up
Because what this world offers will never be enough
We are just strangers passing through
And this kingdom culture includes you
So lay down your pride and all of your strife
Because you have a purpose and a calling on your life
So accept this gift freely given
This grace and mercy purely love driven
